Learn about common ways to give to charities Nov. 2

Most individuals know that giving to a charity is a great mood booster and a wonderful thing to do. Many people see the holiday season as the perfect time to give to a charity, after all its considered to the be the season of giving. There is so much information available that some of the many options available are often overlooked.

Fine Line Creative Arts Center, 37W570 Bolcum Road in St. Charles, hopes to shed some light on these options.

Lynn Caldwell, director of Fine Line, explains. "As a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit we make it our business to understand the many ways someone can give to a charity. But changing tax regulations have redefined charitable deductions. There is so much information it can be overwhelming and the information is often misinterpreted. In an effort to clarify and answer some of the questions we, as an organization have been asked, we are providing a short presentation to highlight the most common methods available."

On Saturday, Nov. 2, experts, attorney Brett Dales and CPA Biff Behr, will provide a free presentation highlighting the differences between the ways an individual can give to charity. There will no sales pitch, this is just to provide information to the public.

Fine Line is providing a free continental breakfast between 9:30 to 10 a.m. for anyone attending this event. The presentation will begin at 10 a.m.

Anyone wishing to attend must register by calling Fine Line on (630) 584-9443 no later than Wednesday, Oct. 30.
