Schaumburg Boomers open 8th season with refreshed roster, amenities
The Schaumburg Boomers opened their eighth season at the stadium that bears their name Tuesday in a night game against the Washington WildThings.
In addition to an updated player roster under original team manager Jamie Bennett, the Boomers introduced a number of new fan amenities at the ballpark along the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway, including the Jim Beam Club in the stadium's former press box.
Last year, the Boomers' attendance remained at the top of the 12-member Frontier League.
During their relatively young life, the Boomers also have claimed success on the field - bringing home three titles.
