Big Shoulders Capital acquires Ohio firm

NORTHBROOK - Equity firm Big Shoulders Capital said its newly formed subidiary, DRS Industrial, has acquired DRS Industries, Inc., in Holland, Ohio, for an undisclosed amount.

DRS is one of a tool manufacturers and custom injection molder, providing parts for Ford Motor Company, Honeywell, Vitamix and other companies that require difficult-to-manufacture specialty parts. DRS Industrial plans to grow the 35-year-old and retain its 35 workers.

"Our team looked at the business with its unique capabilities and decided this was a company we could help grow and thrive," said Big Shoulder Vice President Alex Mazer. "We also see the opportunity for some synergies between DRS and our other portfolio companies and will actively look for bolt-on businesses, particularly amidst the automotive slowdown."
