It's Dog Days of summer in Rolling Meadows

Labor Day weekend is about to go to the dogs!

At least at Rolling Meadows Park District, where Dog Days is planned for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Varsity Field in South Salk Park, 3900 Owl Drive.

It features a mini-agility course, photo booth, raffle and plenty of dog-friendly goodies, while supplies last. These include "puppuccinos" and other fun treats.

Admission is free with a donation for local animal shelters and rescues.

Participating organizations include Barrington Area Animal Rescue & Kennels (B.A.A.R.K.) The following items are needed: dog/cat toys, dog/cat food, towels, blankets, treats and monetary donations.

"This is a great chance to spend some time outdoors with your furry friend and wrap up summer at one of our favorite events," said Recreation Supervisor Kailey Schwartzhoff. "Connect with fellow dog owners in the community while giving back for a wonderful cause."

All dogs attending must have updated vaccinations.

Dog Days sponsors include Bentley's Pet Stuff & Grooming, Costco, Golf Rose Animal Services and Starbucks.
