Nobody hurt in Wauconda garage fire

Thanks to working smoke detectors, four people escaped a fire without injury in Wauconda Friday, officials said.

Crews were called to the 900 block of Larkdale Row at 12:46 a.m. and arrived within four minutes to find an attached garage on fire, according to a news release from the Wauconda Fire District.

The damage is estimated at $100,000, and the cause remains under investigation, the release stated.

Wauconda Fire District was assisted on the scene by Lake Zurich, Countryside, Fox Lake, Nunda, and Grayslake.
