Vernon Hills Public Works open house set for Aug. 28

The Vernon Hills Public Works Department will host an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at its facility, 490 Greenleaf Drive.

Families of all sizes are encouraged to attend. There will be Touch-A-Truck, interaction with staff and vendors, food, giveaways and more.

Along with public service staff, visitors will be able to see Clarke Mosquito service's jet ranger helicopter and meet representatives of the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) and the Vernon Hills Park District.

The event is free.
