Primary Energy Recycling honored with Zero Injury Safety Awards

OAK BROOK - Primary Energy Recycling Corp. was honored by The National Maintenance Agreement Policy Committee with the Zero Injury Safety Award, the construction and maintenance industry's premier safety recognition program.

Primary Energy builds, owns and operates clean and efficient energy recycling projects on or near the industrial customer's site.

Primary Energy utilized industrial contractors Enerfab Inc. and Hayes Mechanical to complete a multiyear retuning project for the company's heat recovery boilers located at its Cokenergy facility in East Chicago, Indiana. The work was completed in 2014 and resulted in a total of 147,057 hours of injury free work.

"Safety is a core value that drives best practices at Primary Energy," said Mo Klefeker, President and CEO, Primary Energy. "The ZISA award reflects the commitment of our employees to advancing our culture of safety. It also demonstrates the commitment we have to partnering with companies who share our same values."

The ZISA award is the union construction and maintenance industry' premier safety recognition program and recognizes an alliance between owner-clients, signatory contractors and local and international unions who worked together to achieve zero injuries on their industrial construction and maintenance projects. Other past or current years' winners include the Ford Motor Company, Duke Energy Corporation and American Electric Power.
