No injuries reported after fire in Glenview that caused more than $250K in damages
Nobody was hurt in a fire at a multifamily housing complex on West Lake Avenue in Glenview Tuesday that caused more than $250,000 in damage to the building and $75,000 to the contents, fire officials said.
The Glenview Fire Department responded about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday to the blaze on the 4300 block of West Lake Avenue in Glenview, officials said. Met by smoke in the hallways, the responders found active fire in the walls and other spaces in the building. Crews brought hoses to several floors of the building and had the fire under control by about 12:30 p.m. The fire was extinguished by 12:37 p.m., according to the Glenview Fire Department.
All occupants of the building were able to get out safely, though the estimated loss to the building was approximately $250,000 with another $75,000 worth of contents, officials said.
Six municipalities assisted at the scene, as well as Cook County Sheriff's Police, the Cook County Building Department and the Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
