Texas hailstorms affect Allstate catastrophe losses in June
NORTHBROOK - The Allstate Corp. said estimated catastrophe losses for June totaled $309 million.
Catastrophe losses occurring in June comprised 16 events at an estimated cost of $311 million, partially offset by favorable reserve re-estimates of prior period catastrophe losses.
Four severe wind and hail weather events, primarily affecting Texas, accounted for approximately 60% of June estimated catastrophe losses.
Allstate previously announced $763 million in estimated catastrophe losses for the months of April and May 2019, bringing estimated catastrophe losses for the second quarter 2019 to $1.07 billion.
