One person hurt in Streamwood house fire

One person suffered minor injuries during a fire on the 900 block of Hartwood Drive late Thursday, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the home at 10:35 p.m. for the fire that started in a closet in a second-floor bedroom, authorities said.

Family members evacuated the home before firefighters arrived on the scene, but two dogs remained inside the home, authorities said.

The fire was quickly extinguished using a portable fire extinguisher and a second hose line, authorities said.

The two dogs were removed from the building in good health, authorities said.

A resident reported a minor injury, was evaluated on scene but not transported to the hospital, authorities said.

A damage estimate is unknown, but all damage was confined to the closet and part of a bedroom.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and under investigation, authorities said.
