TCD dinner helps high school culinarians
Anyone who loves great food and wants to encourage future chefs and hospitality professionals is invited to the 27th annual Foundation Dinner hosted by the award-winning high school culinary program at Technology Center of DuPage.
The tasting begins at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 17, on campus, 301 S. Swift Road, Addison, and features a grazing buffet, student-run action stations, interactive guest cooking stations, and a dessert buffet all prepared and hosted by the students and alumni of TCD's Professional Cooking, Baking and Service program. Tickets are $50.
In addition to dinner, guests can take part in a silent auction and raffle, with proceeds going toward the postsecondary education of these talented high school culinarians. For information, call Julie Massa at (630) 691-7507 or visit tcdupage.org and click on "27th Annual Foundation Dinner."
TCD's Pro-CBS program has been preparing high school students for entry into the food and hospitality industry for 41 years. The program also has produced several state ProStart culinary championship teams and a national champion in 2006.
This year TCD fielded a management team at the Illinois ProStart Student Invitational and placed third in the state. These current state honorees and many alums from past ProStart teams will be on hand during this year's foundation event.
