Palatine, Conant earn wins
It was an old-fashioned shootout between Palatine's Julian Campbell and Rolling Meadows' Max Christie Tuesday night in Palatine.
And even though Christie outscored Campbell, Palatine came away with the team win, downing the Mustangs 71-63 in a Mid-Suburban League crossover boys basketball game.
Campbell, a senior, led the way for the Pirates (2-4) with 31 points while sophomore Luke Seiffert added 22.
Christie, a sophomore, scored 36 for Meadows (4-2) and senior Matt Schloessing added 8.
Conant 66 Wheeling 63: Raj Mittal scored 15 points and Brandon Blakely added 12 to lead Conant (4-3) to an MSL crossover win. Michael Best had a game-high 25 points for Wheeling (3-3) and Christian McLaughlin added 14.
