NASCAR race in Texas starts after one-hour, 50-minute delay

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - The NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Texas has gotten underway after a delay of 1 hour, 50 minutes.
There were two periods of light rain Saturday. That was part of a weather system that dumped heavier rain south of Texas Motor Speedway.
When the first Sprint Cup night race of the season race officially started, it was under caution. There were some jet dryers still on the high-banked, 1 1/2-mile track, and temperatures had dipped into the upper 50s.
The Duck Commander 500 was scheduled for 334 laps.
Carl Edwards started from the pole. Jimmie Johnson, who won the last three Texas races and five of the previous seven, qualified 11th.
