Schaumburg hosting public safety open house:
Schaumburg will host an annual public safety open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Featuring the Schaumburg fire and police departments. the event will be at Fire Station 51, 950 W. Schaumburg Road, and police headquarters, 1000 W. Schaumburg Road. The family-friendly event is free and open to the public.
The fun will include the fire department performing extrication demonstrations, showing off gear and allowing children to spray a hose and climb on the trucks. The police will have several equipment displays and interactive opportunities, including DUI vision goggles and evidence collection.
