Little Friends Inc. makes a big difference in families' lives
Since 1965, Little Friends Inc. has been making a big difference in the lives of those experiencing autism, intellectual and emotional disabilities, and their families by empowering them to live, learn work and thrive in their communities.
This Warrenville-based multi-faceted human service agency serves over 800 people throughout nine counties and 53 school districts every year across northern Illinois. Little Friends Inc. addresses the many needs of this community through a variety of programs and modalities. The agency runs two schools, holds vocational training programs, offers community-based residential opportunities, and operates the Little Friends Center for Autism, which offers comprehensive evaluations, therapies and trainings for parents and professionals.
"Little Friends Inc. supports a wide spectrum of people with ages ranging from 18 months to the end of an adult's life. Our staff works on the front lines in the classrooms and in homes, offering critical resources for those under our care every day," said Jason Altenbern, Vice President for Agency Advancement for Little Friends Inc.
As a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, this vital organization relies on donations to maintain and further operations. While COVID-19 put an in-person fundraiser on hold in previous years, this delightful and entertaining evening is back in 2022. The 45th Annual Benefit Auction returns to an in-person format on March 5, 2022. The event at the Sheraton Lisle Naperville will feature a cocktail reception and raffle followed by dinner, program and a live auction. Tickets are still available but are selling fast. Altenbern suggests not delaying a ticket purchase if you're planning to attend in person. Those who can't make it to the live event can still support the cause by donating to Little Friends Inc. directly. Proceeds from this event support Little Friends Inc. and ensure that the organization's services are available now and into the future for the families they serve.
"The Auction is our signature fundraising event, and we are delighted to celebrate in person this year with our friends and supporters," said Altenbern. "In addition to raising funds, the Auction provides other benefits such as building awareness about the work we perform and sharing how people can actively support our mission."
In addition to the generous support of individuals, corporate sponsors such as Gerald Cares help further Little Friends' mission.
"Little Friends makes such a positive impact on the families they serve. We are honored to continue supporting their mission and programming and look forward to seeing this organization continue to grow and thrive," said Doug Gerald, President of the Gerald Auto Group.
