Music takes center stage at Villa Park Summer Festival June 24

The annual Villa Park Summer Festival on Saturday, June 24, will feature music, food, libations, entertainment, local vendors, and more.

This one-day event serving as a kickoff to summer will be 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The festival will feature over 30 local business vendors and five local food vendors: Michael Anthony's, Firewater BBQ, Flavor Frenzy, Hello Boba, and Molcajete Mexican Grill.

Stop by the beer garden, hosted by the Villa Park Chamber of Commerce and Villa Park Lions Club.

There also will be kids' attractions including a children's magician, balloon animal extraordinaire, and face painter. The giant inflatable area will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and feature a 21-foot slide, Basketball Shoot Out Game, 7-in-1 Firemen Bounce and Slide Combo, Atomic Drop Obstacle Course, Pirate Ship Bounce House, and Slide, 7-in-1 Bounce and Slide Combo, Ninja Obstacle Course, Toxic Rush Wall, Soccer Fever, Leaps, and Bounds Wipe Out Game. All-day wristbands for $10.

Enjoy eight musical performances at the Rugaard Gazebo. The music stage will open with Combat Fusion from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., followed by acoustic guitarist and singer Scottie Long from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m.

Neal Rudnik will perform a mix of pop, country and blues from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. and the seven-piece ensemble Seven Soul will perform rock classics from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m.

The Cave Dwellers, "Chicago's Original 1960s Garage Band," will take the stage from 5:45 to 7 p.m.

Dixon Bandits will be performing music from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Bros., Molly Hatchet and more from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

The eight-piece band Lake Effect will wrap up the one-day festival from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m.

The festival will be held in the Ardmore Business District on Ardmore Avenue and Park Boulevard, next to Illinois Prairie Path.

Parking will be available at West and East Central Boulevard (north of West Park and Ardmore), and East Park Boulevard (just south of the Illinois Prairie Path).
