Iran's $100 billion

Randy Rossi, of Grayslake, wrote in a recent letter to the editor that "Obama agreed to give Iran over $100 billion for a phony promise from Iran not to continue developing nuclear weapons."

To set the record straight, President Obama didn't give Iran that money. He returned money to Iran for military equipment they bought back in 1979. That equipment was never delivered due to the Iranian revolution.

Mr. Rossi also claimed Iran has used that $100 billion to increase their military and support terrorism. The United States certainly couldn't tell them how to spend their own money.
