Fifth-grader to perform benefit recital for Blackberry Creek Elementary music programs
On Saturday, March 16, Da Capo Music Studio in Elburn will host a solo recital to raise money for the Kaneland Blackberry Creek Elementary School Music Department at 6 p.m.
Fifth-grader Marcus Simbol began studying guitar at Da Capo in 2014. Since then, he has performed in numerous student recitals and recently began studying voice. Marcus is a districtwide spelling bee champion and performed in the Blackberry Creek Elementary School Talent Show. Marcus has an uncanny ability to solve the Rubik's Cube (even while blindfolded!) and has participated in several Rubik's Cube Competitions. Marcus loves math, magic tricks, roller skating, and biking. He is fascinated with extreme weather, and someday he would like to be a game software engineer.
Marcus is raising money for the Blackberry Creek Elementary School Music Department so that his teacher, Brandon Fox, can purchase some new instruments for his classes.
The recital is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will be given to the Blackberry Creek Elementary School Music Department. Da Capo Music Studio is located at 870 N. Main St. in Elburn.
