Why won't Congress act?

Why is Congress sitting on its hands when it comes to improving regulations regarding immigration, not to mention the separation of parents from their children? The previous administration handled deportation efficiently and, honestly, more so than any previous DHS. More illegal immigrants were sent back than ever before. Why does Congress let this president create arbitrary new rules when the previous rules needed improvement but, in the meantime, were working?

Congress allowed this nonsense of children separated from their parents. At the border there was always zero tolerance but not like this. During the previous administration, according to Migration Policy Institute, "At the border, there is a near zero tolerance system, where unauthorized immigrants are increasingly subject to formal removal and criminal charges. Within the country, there is greater flexibility."

Forget the wall.

Through the years, the border patrol has been seeing fewer people attempting to cross over as well. Why not allow the previous system to be adhered to until an agreement in Congress can be achieved? The Pew Research Center reported that in the previous five years, more Mexicans had left the United States than entered. The center suggested tough border enforcement contributed to reversing what had been "one of the largest mass migrations in modern history."

And, please, allow the Dreamers the opportunities they deserve. The great majority of American citizens support DACA.

The great majority of citizens also support allowing immigrants who have been living and working among us to remain. Amnesty makes sense.
