Capannari's to reopen Saturday
Capannari Ice Cream in Nount Prospect will open for the season at noon Saturday.
Capannari's will kick off its 17th season of ice cream and family fun with a Banana Extravaganza. Customers are invited to bring in their own banana to receive 25 percent off of a banana split.
In honor of St. Patrick's Day, Irish Cream and Irish Coffee will be available. Guinness, Girl Scout Cookie, Cardamom Orange Crunch and Lemongrass Coconut are just a few of the other flavors that will be available on opening day.
Capannari's will continue its tradition of hosting several family events throughout the season, like the Easter Egg Hunt, Mooovie Nights and Concerts in the Park.
The first event of the season will be the Easter Egg Hunt, scheduled for noon on April 9. More than 5,000 eggs will be hidden, ages 2 - 7 are welcome, and special guest the Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos and fun. The Easter Egg Hunt will be held at a new location this year - the Mount Prospect Centennial Green, 50 S. Emerson Street.
