The morality 'thread'
There is a "common thread" in man's inhumanity to man in criminal acts and violent acts like strong armed robberies, road rage and incidents of hacking. This common thread is a lack of a moral compass in some people. This did not happen overnight. It started in the formative years of each person. Our culture does not encourage religion unfortunately and that leaves a void. We know you cannot "legislate" morality but that does not mean ignoring it is all right. The question "Do Democrats' questions veer into religious tests?" in a recent Daily Herald story about senators questioning of one of President Trump's judicial nominees reflects misplaced priorities. Separation of church and state does not mean separation of God from society.
