Regional recycling event in Wheeling May 5

Wheeling will co-host a recycling event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 5, at the Department of Public Works, 77 W. Hintz Road.

Residents from Wheeling and other Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County communities are eligible to participate. Identification will be checked for verification of residency. Anyone not in a waste agency town will be directed to an exit.

Acceptable electronic items include: answering machines, camcorders, keyboards, small home appliances and more. Document destruction also will be offered.

In addition to Wheeling, residents allowed to participate can be from Arlington Heights, Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Mount Prospect and Palatine. For more information, contact Wheeling public works at (847) 279-6900.
