Ride or walk to Bluesmobile Cruise Night

The 2018 season of the Mount Prospect Lions Club Bluesmobile Cruise Night has begun.

The hours are from 3 to 9 p.m. every Saturday night, with the event taking place in the West Metra Commuter Parking Lot in Downtown Mount Prospect.

This is a free event for strolling residents. If you bring a vehicle for the cruise night, the Mount Prospect Lions Club asks that you consider making a $1 donation to assist its mission to provide eyeglasses and hearing aids to the young and old.

Every week there is live music and often a participating classic car club and giveaways. Food can be purchased from the neighboring restaurants. It's a great evening of fun at no cost.

Highlights this year include May 19, Ford Night featuring Rosie & The Rivets; June 9, '50s Night featuring Flashback '50s DJ Tony and Sock Hop; and June 16, Bluesmobiles on Parade, featuring The Difference and Blues Brothers Dress-Up Night.

Aug. 4 is Emergency Vehicle Night, featuring Illinois Slim; June 30 is Mopar Night featuring the Cruisin' Classics; July 21 is Pontiac GTO Night and the night of the Mount Prospect Downtown Block Party, featuring Rose Hill Revival.

The cruise nights continue through September. For details, visit the Bluesmobile Cruise Night Facebook page.
