Westmont police investigating armed robbery

Westmont police are searching for two men who committed a robbery in the parking lot of an apartment complex Wednesday night.

According to a news release, the crime happened at 9:59 p.m. on the 1000 block of South Williams Street. The victim was followed into the lot by a dark-colored SUV. Then two men, wearing dark clothing and carrying guns, approached. They took $2,500 from him.

As he ran away, shots were fired at him. One bullet hit a nearby vacant residence.
