Addison woman stole co-workers' cash and jewelry, police say

An employee at a Des Plaines business was arrested Tuesday on allegations she stole cash and jewelry from co-workers' belongings, authorities said in a news release.

Veronica Klicka, 40, of the 400 block of North Mill Road in Addison, is charged with three counts of theft and one count of criminal damage to property.

The thefts occurred in February at a business on the 500 block of East Oakton Street, police said. They were reported Feb. 24.

A locked box containing cash was pried open and the money was stolen, too, police said.

According to a news release, a witness said Klicka had asked for directions to the nearest pawn shop, and jewelry Klicka brought to the shop belonged to the victims.

Police repeatedly tried to reach Klicka and finally did so Tuesday. She was arrested at the police station.
