Glenview man convicted of selling 'ghost gun'

A federal jury last week convicted a Glenview man of selling a "ghost gun" to a felon in Deerfield, the U.S. attorney's office in Chicago said Monday in a news release.

Joseph Ghandour, 31, could face up to 10 years in federal prison at sentencing.

A "ghost gun" is any firearm without an identifiable serial number, most of which are made from parts from various different sources, the news release said.

Authorities said Ghandour sold the unmarked rifle to the felon on July 28, 2017, in the parking lot of a Deerfield grocery store. The buyer was working with law enforcement.

U.S. District Judge Sara L. Ellis set Ghandour's sentencing for Jun 22.
