'Good momentum' at The Glen Town Center
The Glen Town Center has added more than 25,000 square feet of tenants in a spate of recent openings and newly signed leases.
Rick Greenbury, regional manager of AZT Corporation, which manages The Glen Town Center, said the additions have delivered "good momentum" to the development.
Offix, a coworking space, signed a lease for 8,000 square feet in the former location of The Book Market, 2651 Navy Blvd., Greenbury said.
The publication REjournals.com said this will be Offix's seventh location. Five current locations are in Chicago and another in Lincolnwood.
Poke Burrito, an Asian fusion restaurant with two locations in Chicago and others in Park Ridge, Oak Park and Deer Park, will open at The Glen Town Center in an 1,800-square-foot space, REjournals said.
Adding to the restaurant scene will be a 7,500-square-foot Chuck Lager America's Tavern, the enterprise of former "Top Chef" participant Favio Viviani, opening in the former Yanni's space at 2601 Navy Blvd.
"A proven concept," Greenbury said, the Delaware-based restaurateur has three current locations in Delaware, Florida and New Jersey and is opening four others, including one in Orland Park and the Glenview location.
Veering from food, The Glen Town Center will gain an even larger company with a Stretch Zone franchise, which is, as it sounds, practitioner-assisted stretching to benefit muscles and increase mobility. It'll occupy about 1,300 square feet.
Started in 1999, Stretch Zone boasts former NFL star Drew Brees as a franchisee and a member of its board. Stretch Zone has more than 100 locations nationwide.
Greenbury said that January saw the opening of Eggspresso at The Glen, a restaurant in the former Eggsperience location, 2000 Tower Drive. That brunch option also has a Bannockburn eatery.
Also, under the same management, Flight Wine Bar, 1820 Tower Drive, is now Paulie's Neighborhood Restaurant Wine Bar & Market, Greenbury said. Those two restaurants total 7,500 square feet.
Greenbury also noted work is being done on the former home of the ArcLight Cinemas space, 1850 Tower Drive.
Landmark Theatre signed a 20-year guaranteed lease obligation for the 45,000-square-foot space with the theater owner last Nov. 15. The theater should be open this summer, Greenbury said.
