Trump's accountant should run for office
In response to Martin Dettmer, I must state that a person who loses approximately $1 billion is not an astute businessman.
Trump's accountant did not find a tax loophole, because he merely utilized the tax law that allows a citizen to forgo paying taxes suffering an immense monetary loss.
The only problem is when Trump recovered from his loss, he did not opt out of continuing to forgo payment of taxes. This affected the American people greatly because his payments would have been in the range of $50 million per year for the 18 years that he was not required to pay.
American infrastructure, education system, police forces, fire departments, etc. may not have had to experience the massive cuts over the past two decades with $50 million to pick up the slack. We could have used those taxes, but even when Trump recovered he didn't care enough about the people to pay his taxes.
We all know he wasn't the smart one here, it was his accountant. When Trump was asked about putting his money into "a blind trust" he did not know what that was. I bet his accountant knows. Maybe his accountant should run for president.
