Frog monitor training at Volo Bog

The Calling Frog Survey, a training workshop for beginning and experienced monitors will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at Volo Bog State Natural Area on Brandenburg Road west of Route 12 in Ingleside. Participants will learn how to monitor trends in regional frog population. The calls of 13 frog and toad species will be taught and reviewed, survey sites checked and monitoring protocol discussed. Experienced monitors are encouraged to attend. The program is open to adults and those 17 years and older. To register, contact Allison Sacerdote-Velat asacerdote-velat@naturemuseum.org.
