Police departments to hold training exercises in Wheaton

Wheaton police and officers from other local departments will be conducting training exercises all day Wednesday near Wheaton Avenue and Liberty Drive.

There will be a noticeable police presence and a variety of law enforcement vehicles in the block of Liberty Drive from Wheaton Avenue to Hale Street. SWAT officers also will be practicing emergency response exercises, according to a city alert.

The city is advising that residents should not be alarmed to see substantial police activity in the area Wednesday.

Liberty Drive between Wheaton Avenue and Hale Street also will be marked for no parking.
