Man charged with robbing sex workers in Schaumburg, Des Plaines

A Cook County judge set bail at $300,000 Friday for a Des Plaines man who authorities say robbed sex workers at gunpoint in Schaumburg and Des Plaines and then threatened them.

Justin Nealguy, 25, was charged with armed robbery in Schaumburg and aggravated criminal sexual assault, armed robbery and unlawful restraint in Des Plaines. Both cases took place the same day and targeted prostitutes who do not permanently reside in Illinois, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors say Nealguy photographed the driver's licenses of the two women and told them not to call police because he knew where they lived.

About 7:15 a.m. Dec. 13, Nealguy met a Las Vegas sex worker, who uses a website to advertise her services, at a Schaumburg hotel, said Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Loukas Kalliantasis, reading from partner Nicole Murphy's proffer. After engaging in sex, Nealguy pulled a gun on the woman, demanded the $150 he paid her and took an additional $2,840 in cash and the necklace she was wearing, Kalliantasis said.

Nealguy then took a photo of the woman's license and threatened to kill her if she told police, according to authorities. He also deleted messages he left on her phone and ordered her into the shower, telling her to stay there until he left, Kalliantasis said.

That same day, Des Plaines police arrested Nealguy for a separate but similar robbery during which, prosecutors say, he threatened a sex worker, took her money and ordered her into the shower.

In addition to those cases, Nealguy faces charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, Kalliantasis said. That case is pending in Skokie.

Nealguy will next appear in court on Jan. 10.
