YWCA Elgin to host wine tasting fundraiser April 12

Gather your friends and come raise a glass to the YWCA Elgin on Thursday, April 12, from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. at the third annual "YW Uncorked" event!

Reservations include a sparkling wine tasting at check-in, 10 wine tasting tickets, two Girl Scout cookie/wine pairings, a barnwood Paint-n-Sip class by Brushed Chicago, brief instruction on wine tasting, delicious catered hors d'oeuvres and desserts, and live musical entertainment by Candy Kresmery. Also available will be silent auction and raffle items, vendors with wine-themed items, and a wine pull ($10/pull).

All proceeds from this event will benefit the YWCA Elgin's educational programs.

All attendees must be 21 years of age or older; ID must be shown at check-in.

The YWCA Elgin, located in the heart of downtown, is dedicated to meeting the needs of women and families in the Elgin area. Over the 116 years of service to the Elgin area, the YWCA has evolved to meet the needs of the community. Currently, they provide 72 school-age child care students with a safe-haven after school, teach 500 adult English as a Second Language students, provide 60 preschool children with skills to improve their lives through literacy, provide 300 low-income families with clothing (completely free of cost), teach teens the technology they will need to excel, provide 300 high school girls with prom dresses (free or at a very reduced price), and offer a Workforce Development program with paid internship.
