Roselle municipal buildings to close through at least April 5
The village of Roselle is closing all municipal buildings effective at the end of the business day Tuesday, through at least April 5.
Officials said in a statement that "extremely limited in-person access" will be available at the Roselle police station, 103 S. Prospect St. The public is asked to conduct business and make requests for service with the village by phone, email or online at roselle.il.us/E-Services.
However, all board and commission meetings, including those for the village board, are canceled until further notice.
The facilities - including village hall, the fire station and public works building - will be closed to help protect public health and the health, safety and welfare of employees amid the coronavirus pandemic, officials said.
While the buildings are closed to the public, village employees will continue to work on-site and remotely to ensure that essential services continue to be offered in Roselle. Payments for fees and invoices to the village can be made online at roselle.il.us/payments, through online payment programs offered through banks, or in the drop box in the circle drive in front of village hall, 31 S. Prospect St.
Concerns, questions and other communications can also be done through the village's online Form Center at roselle.il.us/FormCenter, and links to other online based municipal services are available at roselle.il.us/E-Services. For extreme situations that require in-person interaction, staff will be available to assist the public in the lobby of the police station.
A full list of meeting and event cancellations, affected business operations, and updated information about the village's response to the coronavirus is available at roselle.il.us/coronavirus.
