Oakton hosting candidate forum Monday

The public is invited to attend an Oakton Community College board of trustees candidates' forum next week.

The forum is 4 p.m. Monday, March 6, in Room 1604 at the college's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet three of the four candidates seeking to fill two seats. Trustees serve for a six-year term.

Sponsored by the Oakton Community College Faculty Association's political action committee, candidates will be available to answer questions from the audience and give their positions on election issues.

Candidates participating in the forum will be Martha Burns, of Evanston; Carmina Cortes Gonzalez, of Des Plaines; and Travis Zimmerman, of Northbrook.

Skokie resident Paul Kotowski is also running, but he is unable to attend. Kotowski will have a prepared statement available at the forum.

Incumbents Jody Wadhwa of Northbrook and Patricia Harada of Wilmette are not running for re-election.
