Interim named new administrator in Lake in the Hills

Just more than a month after being named the interim village administrator, Fred Mullard was sworn in Thursday as Lake in the Hills' top unelected official.

Mullard previously was the village community services director. He has worked for Lake in the Hills since 2001, when he was hired as deputy public works director and airport manager.

“Fred is a true public servant. He has already served Lake in the Hills for nearly 20 years and knows our community. Even before coming here, his 24-year service in the U.S. Air Force helped mold him into the leader he is today,” village President Russ Ruzanski said in a news release.

“I am looking forward to his management in the village administrator position and am confident he is going to take our community in the right direction,"Ruzanski said. "He is exactly what we need for this position right now.”
