Boat sticker penalty increases in Island Lake

Island Lake boaters who don't purchase annual village stickers for their watercraft now will face steeper fines. The village board boosted the fine for noncompliance to $50, up from $35. For village residents, stickers cost $20 for the first boat and $15 for additional boats. Stickers cost $40 for people who live outside Island Lake but boat on the lake.
