Vernon Area library offers digital magazine app

The Vernon Area Public Library is reminding readers that most suburban libraries offer a digital service that gives patrons free access to current magazines.

The free Flipster application can be used to read any of 75 popular magazines and works on Android and Apple phones and tablets, as well as desktop systems and Kindle Fire tablets. It has an online newsstand showing the most recent issues of top magazines.

Readers also can browse by category, such as business or entertainment and download the selection to their device.
