Boys volleyball: Keevins, Stevenson ace Zion-Benton

Andrew Keevins served 6 aces, and Stevenson's boys volleyball team hit double-digit wins with a 25-13, 25-14 victory over host Zion-Benton in North Suburban Conference action Wednesday night.

Thomas Finn and Justin Ross pounded 6 and 5 kills, respectively, for the Patriots, who improved to 10-3 and 2-0 in the NSC. Will Sorenson lofted 17 assists, and Gavin Meng added 3 kills.

Mundelein d. Waukegan: Andrew Gibbons had 6 kills, Eric Morales added four, and the visiting Mustangs captured a 25-21, 25-22 decision in North Suburban Conference action.

Marc Rey added 3 kills and 3 blocks for Mundelein (5-11, 1-1), Ricky Osornio notched 3 blocks as well, and Martin Carrillo contributed 18 digs.

Joliet Catholic d. Carmel: Mike Scott had 11 kills, 6 digs and 1 block for the host Corsairs, who lost the East Suburban Catholic Conference match 25-22, 22-25, 25-22.

Carmel (5-6, 1-1) also got contributions from Andersen Ptasienski (3 kills), David Foecking (4 kills), Sean Seidl (11 assists), Alex Thiel (11 assists) and Matt Herron (1 ace, 11 digs).
