Glenview man facing two new charges in child molestation case

A Glenview man already accused of sexually abusing children has been charged with additional crimes.

Bruce Claver, 57, of the 3000 block of Knollwood Lane, was charged Friday with additional counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse after an investigation into a complaint made Jan. 10, police said.

The continued investigation revealed an additional victim, police said.

On Saturday, Claver was ordered held without bond pending a Tuesday court hearing, according the Glenview Police Department.

Glenview police, aided by the Cook County state's attorney's office, the Department of Child and Family Services and the Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County, began an investigation Dec. 24 after a parent reported abuse had occurred over multiple years, officials said.

Claver initially was charged Jan. 10 with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and predatory criminal sexual assault, records show.

His initial bail was set at $250,000.

Police later learned of a separate complaint involving another child. Claver and the children are not related, police said.
