Virtual town hall on 2020 Census set for Friday
Cook County Commissioner Kevin B. Morrison and Hanover Park Village Clerk Eira Corral Sepúlveda will co-host a Census Virtual Town Hall at 1 p.m. Friday, May 8, to discuss the 2020 Census.
The town hall will be livestreamed on Morrison's Facebook page, https://bit.ly/35vZLnD.
Morrison and Corral Sepúlveda will provide an update on the self-response rates in the Northwest suburbs and changes to census operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. They will take questions from the public and also lead a discussion with Jason Echols from AgeOptions and Denise Raleigh from the Gail Borden Public Library on why the 2020 Census matters and how it can impact local communities, nonprofit organizations, and more.
"Resources and representation for families and communities across Cook County depend on having an accurate and complete count. The more that trusted community voices can talk to our family, friends, and neighbors about the importance of the census, the more we will see our self-response numbers rise in the 15th District," Morrison said.
The event is free and open to the public. Residents are encouraged to submit questions beforehand to https://bit.ly/2ynnt9P or District15@cookcountyil.gov. For more information, contact (847) 519-7674 or email District15@CookCountyIL.gov.
