Celebrate Purim with Temple B'nai Israel
Celebrate the vibrant festival of Purim with Temple B'nai Israel, 400 N. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora. It's a yearly celebration that expresses joy, gratitude and the creative spirit. They invite you to commemorate this popular holiday with them by participating in several wonderful events at the temple.
At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11, Rabbi Edward Friedman will lead the evening service, which will focus on Purim's importance to the Jewish religion. He will get some playful assistance from an accompanying PowerPoint presentation that features The Simpsons. There will also be a full (and lively) reading of the Megillah in the voices of Purim's famous figures. You won't want to miss this innovative explanation about the meaning of Purim.
Everyone is welcome to attend. And if you want to come in costume, that's even better! Get inspired by your favorite Purim personality and dress the part for the complete experience.
For a more traditional observation of the holiday, you can join them at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 12. There will be a full reading of the Megillah at this service as well. Plus, a shortened children's reading will take place at 11 a.m.
