Grab your rod and reel, it's time to fish

Rainbow trout season begins Saturday at Lakewood Forest Preserve near Wauconda, after the release of trout in Banana Lake. Trout stocking is a biannual event at the lake. The daily creel limit is five. Fishing in any Lake County forest preserve is free, but anyone 16 or over must have a state fishing license. Trout fishers must also have an Illinois inland trout stamp. Proceeds from stamp sales help fund the stocking program.
