The Art of Ross Shellenberger at the Ansel B. Cook Home

The Art of Ross Shellenberger is featured in the second-floor hallway of the Ansel B. Cook Home, 413 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville, during the 2019 summer open house season. Libertyville scenes, wide-open landscapes, and nature scenes were frequent subjects for Shellenberger who worked primarily in watercolor, but also produced prints, etchings and sculpture. The items on display represent the breadth of his work and life as both an artist and a man.

"While his work as an adult is stunning, my favorite items in the exhibit are paintings and drawings Mr. Shellenberger created as a child," said Jenny Barry, Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society board member. "Many thanks to the Shellenberger, Carson, Pyle, and Kublank families for the loan of items for the display."

The Ansel B. Cook Home is open on Sundays from 2-4pm through August 25. Check the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society web site, http://www.lmhistory.org for other open house dates. Suggested donation: $2/adults, $1/seniors & students
