Chicago history lecture at Vernon Hills library
Historian Jim Gibbons will discuss the city of Chicago and the history behind its neighborhoods and its ethnic backgrounds at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at Aspen Drive Library, 701 Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills.
Gibbons will discuss how the city became known as the melting pot of the world and explain how, despite differences, these ethnic groups learn, grow and prosper together.
