Family Kite Fly

The Vernon Hills Park District will host the annual Family Kite Fly from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, the Century Park Island Shelter, 1001 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills. This event supports the Illinois Park & Recreation Association's "Flying 4 Kids" program, which promotes the sale of park district license plates that feature a kite design. Proceeds from the sale of license plates supports after-school programming. Bring your own kite or purchase one at the event for $6. The event is free. Park at the boat dock shelter parking lot and walk to the island shelter. Registration is not required.
