Naperville liquor commission member resigns after DUI arrest
Naperville liquor commission member Dana Davenport resigned her position Friday, hours after being arrested in the city for driving under the influence and other violations.
Naperville officials confirmed that Davenport submitted her resignation, which was accepted by Mayor Steve Chirico. Davenport was appointed last year to the commission for a term slated to end in 2023.
According to police records, Davenport, 43, of the 1100 block of Olympus Drive in Naperville, was pulled over for a traffic violation at 12:24 a.m. Friday near the intersection of South Washington Street and West Martin Avenue.
Davenport was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and also charged with disobeying a traffic signal, failure to give a signal when required, illegal lane usage and obstructing justice.
