Sox need changes in managing, coaching
When will Jerry Reinsdorf see the light?
His White Sox have now lost another series to a last-place team. Reinsdorf has the reputation of being loyal to his employees. But what about us fans?
We fans are who made Reinsdorf rich, and he owes it to us to field a winning team. And that starts with a new manager.
Robin Ventura has no business managing a Major League team. He had no previous experience managing or even coaching any team. Every year under Ventura, the White Sox have floundered.
The bullpen is also a disaster. Maybe that's why there is a hot dog painted on the bullpen wall; nothing but hot dogs coming out of the pen.
Don Cooper is always being touted as a great pitching coach. Maybe Coop is past his prime and should also be replaced. His bullpen is just a shambles.
(Reinsdorf probably believes the accolades and praise coming from a certain White Sox announcer about Ventura and Cooper).
Rick Hahn has tried his best to get the players necessary to field a winning team, but poor managing and poor coaching have kept the White Sox out of contention for the last few years.
Reinsdorf should just step out of the way, like the Rickets family did, and hire competent and experienced personnel to operate and run his team. Some new life at the helm might make all the difference.
