Global speakers mark 40 years of IFANCA anniversary celebration Discuss Global Halal Standard
The IFANCA 40th anniversary celebration, which lasted three days, was the largest halal event in North America to highlight important issues in the halal sector by bringing together prominent experts from around the world. The conference offered a rich program of inspiring keynote addresses, interactive panel sessions featured a halal sector pioneers and other stakeholders to debate the challenges and opportunities about the halal sector as well as scientific presentations and seminars. The Conference Session had a broad range of discussion formats within this international platform and provided plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas for halal professionals.
The conference at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel Schaumburg was hosted with well-established measures in place. The Three-day event was attended by 600 attendees from 20 countries. The conference and celebration started on Sunday, September 18 and ended on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA) was Founded in 1982, with a small group of people who aim to promote halal. IFANCA Founders understand global halal standards and requirements and have optimized the halal certification process. Their process is simple, cost effective and efficient, and easily implemented.
IFANCA is a globally based halal certifier, IFANCA has certified more than tens of thousands of food products, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and personal care and is also working to promote "awareness" of an Islamic lifestyle. Such services are apparently lucrative. Their trademark Crescent-M logo means one thing: "This is halal."
During an interview with Muhammad Munir Chaudry, president & CEO, Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America IFANCA's said, "our vision is to ensure everyone has access to the halal products and services that let them live a secure, satisfied life. We strive to best serve humanity by promoting food and health security and nutrition equity through local and global partnerships, empowering other established institutions, and uplifting religious and scientific voices."
Many prominent speakers and leaders attended including Nabil A. Molla, Bilge Isiklar, Mary Anne Jackson, Shaikh Hamza Yusuf Hanson (President, Zaytuna College), Ihsan Övüt, Mian Nadeem Riaz, Nur Wahid, Mohammad Ashraf Tahir, Winai Dahlan, Rafi-Uddin Shikoh, Austin Chu, Nadeem Zafar, Grace Tjahjono, Muhammad Aqil Irham, Siti Aminah, Mark Overland, Faridah Hj. Hassan, Zalman Putra Ahmad Ali, Winai Dahlan, Fertiana Santy and many others.
During The conference several of sessions covered a range of topics and included a variety of guest speakers and renown global speakers. Attendees learned about the benefits of working toward understanding commonalities in halal standards while also getting information and knowledge about the different halal standards for countries such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Algeria, Singapore, Indonesia, and Korea.
During the conference, Mr. Chaudry explained IFANCA became a partner with UNICEF to bring an end to the global COVID-19 pandemic. IFANCA and UNICEF work together in vaccines and the health systems that deliver lifesaving vaccines. IFANCA debunked misinformation after they found halal ingredients in vaccines.
In three days several of sessions covered and explained a common theme throughout the conference was the challenge of responding to consumer demands and specific market needs while striving to certify halal certification bodies. Several other organizations, including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Abbott, Amway were the major sponsors for this convention.
The IFANCA 40th anniversary celebration and conference were totally well organized, prestigious, and enjoyed by the attendees and will be remembered.
