Schaumburg to light holiday tree Nov. 23

The public is invited to Schaumburg's annual tree-lighting ceremony Friday, Nov. 23, which will include caroling and a visit from Santa.

The evening's activities will begin at 6 p.m. with holiday caroling with the village board at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Court.

Santa will be escorted by the Schaumburg Fire Department at 6:30 p.m. in the plaza between village hall and the Prairie Center.

After the tree is lit, Santa will meet with children in the Maggie Atcher Theatre.

Seasonal entertainment will be featured and refreshments served.

Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to this event for the Schaumburg Food Pantry. Items also will be accepted at village hall from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday until Thursday, Dec. 27.
