Donate unwanted vases in Island Lake

Island Lake officials are collecting vases as part of a charitable effort to benefit people living in health care facilities.

They're seeking glass, plastic or ceramic vases that are up to 13 inches tall. They should be wrapped in newspaper or Bubble Wrap and delivered to village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave.

The vases will be given to Random Acts of Flowers, a Tennessee-based group that aims to improve the emotional health and well-being of people in health care facilities by delivering recycled flowers to them.
